My current desktops, on Windows Vista:

and on Linux Ubuntu:
For the peeps that didn't know, I'm running a dualboot system on my laptop.
A few people have asked why. I guess I can say that Linux's really better and all that but in all seriousness, I did it for curiosity sake. I wanted to see how running a different OS is like.
Well, I can say now that it's really really different from Windows. And it's not very user-friendly - in terms of whether my mum or even my bros can actually use it.
Exempli gratia:
"Amos, where's C drive?"
"There's no such thing."
"What?"
"There's no C drive, there's only root."
"Huh?"
"Yup."
"I want windows back."
WARNING: Technical Stuff
After installing Ubuntu,
1. I noobishly destroyed my Master Boot Record. Windows wouldn't boot ("Invalid File Partition", GASP!), neither would Ubuntu ("GRUB was missing").
2. I screwed up Ubuntu (Ubuntu wouldn't boot) a few times while trying to get all my tablet functions working.
3. I screwed up Ubuntu while trying to get Chinese fonts to display correctly. Yes, dammit. It was ONLY FONTS!
4. I still cannot fix the suspend and hibernate functions on Ubuntu. Probably 'cause there's incompatibility with my lao ya graphics chipset.
I've managed to fix most of the above problems with hours of reading and great help from the Ubuntu online community.
Now, I'm waiting for Ubuntu 8.04 to come out in the next week or so. Apparently they've managed to get Ubuntu running with my graphics chipset.
Phew... What was my major again?
